If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach.
So today my parents and I went to WalMart.
Got an Alfred Hitchcock movie collection for $5. Twenty different movies/episodes of his show. How awesome is that? Hitchcock is a god for suspense films. Who doesn’t love Psycho? North by Northwest? Vertigo? Strangers on a Train?
Yeah, that’s what I thought. The man is still one of the most influential people in the suspense genre. And his career was so long, from silent films into colour…you’ve gotta admit, Hitchcock knew what he was doing.
Psycho’s my favourite. I’ve always loved it, ever since I can remember. I still think it would be awesome if I could afford to rent out the “Bates Motel” on the Universal backlot for a party. Would that not be awesome? I don’t even know if it’s more than a front, but I just think that would be amazing. Norman Bates is just…just creepy-calm enough to really give me chills. And the sequels (which Hitchcock didn’t direct. :( ) are all pretty good, too. Psycho IV is my favourite. I love the backstory element. I love the way it shows the how and why of his killing spree, and his poor wife… :(
I’ve noticed lately, I’ve been buying the movie collections more than regular movies. Maybe because it’s a better deal, even if I only watch a few of the films. I’ve got the Classic Monster Flicks one with all the B movies, the Fright Night one with the Bela Lugosi and Vincent Price films, Cult Classics , Vampires, and now Hitchcock . Good stuff, all of it.
Well, I have a vocab test tomorrow, so I think I’m going to go “study.” With words like “scoff” and “steeped,” I’m sure I’ll fail. ;)
