Saw Wall-E again today. That makes twice. Probably spoilers in here, again, so…
It’s still a giant GO GREEN ad.
Doesn’t make me stop loving everything about it, and I doubt any of the little kids realised it, since I know that I’ve watched a lot of movies I loved as a kid that have so many more levels of meaning now than then, but still. Having to leave Earth because there’s so much trash? Everyone so fat that they shouldn’t be able to even stand on their own legs because they sit and eat junk all day? You can’t tell me that’s not a comment on the way our culture’s going right now.
Whatever. Wall-E is still adorable as crap, and I almost cried again this time, even though I know it’s a happy ending. It just still hurts to see Wall-E Not recognise Eve after trying so long to just hold her hand. And then he does, and I felt so relieved.
I love Pixar films. They do such an amazing job, and this one…wow. The first Pixar film to have live action worked in, and it was perfectly executed. And I still love how so little dialogue made for such expressive characters.
Creepy scary Borders guy called again today. Twice. I’m never answering my phone again.
